(More customer reviews)After purchasing a fairly high-end home theater system, I wanted to bury the speaker cabling in the walls and ceiling. That meant that I had to create a way to make the connection between my receiver and the cables in the walls. A triple gang panel was just the right answer, as I made short cable runs to it and used banana plugs to make the connections. However, given the large number of individual runs inside the wall from the panel, using an electrical box would have been cumbersome.Additionally, since speaker runs are low voltage, there's really not much need for it.This triple gang mounting bracket cut into the drywall easily and was a snap to install.(I also used similar single gang brackets for the wall and ceiling plates for the various speaker jacks and they went in just as easily.)Although you do need to have a few skills, this is certainly something that a novice can do right the first time with a little forethought and a few simple tools.I recommend cutting the holes slightly undersized and then trimming as necessary.Just remember to keep the bottom and top cuts level and parallel.Once the bracket is in place, the plates match up perfectly and you're in business.I might also add that I priced what I considered to be inferior mounting devices at my local big box hardware/lumber store (that just happens to use a lot of orange in it's color scheme) and I found them to be 4 times the cost with a good deal less utility. It took a few days to receive these brackets by UPS ground, but you're not likely to need to do this job in a day anyway.I suggest that some of the prep work be done in advance and then simply finish it off when the brackets arrive. It looks like a professional did my installation - - and, at what price?
