(More customer reviews)The Manfrotto 208 is used with the Manfrotto Super Clamp--there is not a female threading on the underside.You can attach the Super Clamp to any any of Manfrotto's tripods, light stands,or background supports.You can also attach the clamp to these items from just about any other manufacturer.Once you do that, if you have something that requires a 3/8 inch connection point, get one of these.The cheaper alternative is to use the Manfrotto 037 Reversible Short Stud - Replaces 2907.That stud has both a 1/4 inch and 3/8 inch connection.This part, the Manfrotto 208 only seems to come in 3/8 inch size.
