I use them for installing combination floppy drives / memory card readers.
This one is plastic, but sturdy enough to do the job.It allows a standard floppy drive to fit through the hole in the faceplate.So if you are looking for a flush fit at the front, this one can do it.
Unfortunately, the holes in the lugs for the side mounting screws don't have any horizontal slotting.Forward and aft adjustments are therefore difficult when using the side holes to mount the drive.The holes in the bottom lugs are a little larger and give more adjustment room, but some drives don't have bottom mount holes.
I would prefer a more up-market design, more precision, and more adjustment.But, in the end, it works and it often works better than the competition.
