Right-angle-camera-rotation mechanism is very smooth; does not bind in the least.
When fully rigged with camera and flash, complete unit is very "stable" when resting on flat surface.
In order to hold bracket in left hand (operating shutter with right hand), I had to move the locking thumbscrew to a different [fortunately predrilled] hole.
Suggestion:Anti-scratch felt or foam coating on the unit's base (under camera mount area) would be a welcome feature. (I plan to add this to mine.)
Considerations: (1)Not sure a full-size DSLR would fit in this bracket. (2)Not sure the foam grip will hold up over time.
